Company History

Mills Resistor Company has been manufacturing resistors since 1968. We have grown from a small manufacturing facility of 2,000 square feet to one of over 10,000 square feet. Our headquarters office and plant is located in Sacramento, California. In addition, we also have a small sales office in southern California to more directly service the large electronics market there.

Since we started we have gradually expanded our wirewound manufacturing capabilities to better service our customers. The following is a brief history of our company highlights.

In 1968 the company opened and began the manufacture of ultra-precision wirewound resistors.
In 1976 we started manufacturing precision power wirewound resistors
In 1978 the first of our ultra-precision wirewound networks were delivered. We added equipment to allow us to match resistors to temperature coefficient and very tight tolerances.
In 1981 Mills Resistor purchased T.M. Morris and added the capability to manufacture fiberglass core and ceramic encased resistors to our line.
In 1983 low-ohm current shunts became a standard product.
In 1992 Mills Resistor purchased the manufacturing capabilities of HR Resistor, enhancing our ultra-precision line.
In 1997 we consolidated our manufacturing facilities into a single operation in order to achieve greater manufacturing efficiency.
In 1998 we began our World Wide Web Page to better service our customers.

The president, Ted Mills, is an engineer with a strong quality control background. Jeff Mills, vice president, has a degree in mechanical engineering from U.C. Davis and an MBA from the University of Southern California. He overlooks the day to day operations. Together they bring over seventy-five years of electronic manufacturing experience to the company. Their commitment to quality is second to none.

Our catalog shows most of our standard resistors. We do have the capability to build to your requirements. We will be glad to assist in the design phase of any project and welcome the opportunity to bid your needs.

We pride ourselves on our ability to meet your delivery requirements. Our standard delivery lead time is four weeks. However, if you need it faster, we can often provide very quick turn around for your immediate needs.

We thank you for your interest in our company and look forward to hearing from you.
